WINGATE, Texas

Walter Dean Spurgeon, 83, of Wingate, Texas, formerly of Indianapolis, died Thursday, July 2, 2015.

Survivors include a brother, Jim Spurgeon of Greencastle; three sisters, Patricia Nicholson of Seymour, Charlene Gray of Seymour and Frances Lawson of Greencastle; and a sister-in-law, Joyce Spurgeon of Seymour.

Walter was preceded in death by his wife, Friedericke Cobl.

Services were held Sunday at Winters Funeral Chapel in Winters, Texas, with burial at Shep Cemetery with full military honors.
