Breastfeeding week activities planned

Schneck Medical Center and Jackson County WIC invite breastfeeding moms and their families to the Global Big Latch On and Breastfeeding Brunch from 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 1 in the Schneck Auditorium, just inside the visitor’s entrance.

The event will celebrate World Breastfeeding Week and is designed to increase awareness about the benefits of nursing. At 10:30 a.m., babies will latch on for one minute to officially participate in the global latch on.

Breastfeeding moms can share their stories, learn new tips and make new friends at the event.

The Global Big Latch On and Breastfeeding Brunch is supported by the New Hope Services WIC program. All interested parents and those who want to support loved ones in breastfeeding are welcome to attend.

Admission and brunch are free and door prizes will be given away.
