Sauers club discuss medicine safety

Sauers Extension Homemakers Club met at the home of Joyce Hackman on June 11 with a perfect attendance of members.

President Rose Elmer led the group in repeating the objects of extension homemakers and the pledge to the flag.

Hackman gave a devotion titled “Guard Your Brand.” Since Jesus is our brand, our lives should reflect him in our actions and words.

The minutes were read by Ileen Nehrt and approved.

Margie Nash gave the treasurer’s report.

Grace Stuckwisch gave a lesson on safety and climate control of our medicines. The best place for keeping them is in a locked drawer or cabinet in a dry area with a temperature of 59 to 86 degrees. The medicine cabinet in the bathroom is not the best place to store medicines.

Rose conducted the installation of officers for the new year. She gave each officer a colorful gift bag appropriate for their duty.

Doris Stahl, Nash and Hackman were appointed to the picnic committee for August.

Gertie Schepman received the hostess gift.

Hackman served angel food cake with creamy fruit topping. The group enjoyed looking at the family picture and the stained glass picture of the farm.
