Pine Ridge Extension Homemakers celebrated member birthdays June 23 at Trinity Methodist Church with Carolyn Krieger and Sandi Hall as hostesses.
Decorations featured a “Happy Birthday” theme. Devotional booklets and snack packets were favors.
Secret pal gifts were exchanged, and cake and ice cream were served to the 14 members attending.
Krieger, the club’s president, presided. Aryss Beebe led in singing “In the Good Old Summertime.”
Roll call was to tell how many years one had been in an Extension Homemakers club. Anna Mills’ 64 was longest for Pine Ridge, but Margret Yeager equaled her, counting several counties. Club dues of $3 were paid.
Hall also asked members why they had joined the club and why they remained members.
The hostess sign-up sheet was filled out. Beginning in September, Pine Ridge will meet at 1:30 p.m. rather than in the evening. The club will eat out in December and take a trip in May.
Hall said each club is to send $10 to the county, which will be used half toward a 4-H sewing prize and half toward a 4-H education fund.
The fall district meeting will be Aug. 25 in Clark County.
New officers were informally installed to begin the new year.
Meals on Wheels in July will be delivered by Hall and Mary Ann Seaney.
Krieger gave a devotional reading, “Cleaning Your Refrigerator.”
The next meeting will be in August when the club will entertain Leftovers 4-H Club.
