Hearts of Home Extension Homemakers Club met June 18 at Vernon Tea House.

Janet Jarvis led the prayer. After lunch, Linda Lock opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and the Homemakers Club Creed. She then distributed Jackson County Fair booklets, Tell-A-Homemaker news and the new extension booklet “Knit Together By Life.”

Five members answered roll call by talking about their summer exercise plans.

Glenda Neawedde read the Thought of the Day, and Jarvis gave the citizenship lesson about the history of Flag Day.

Neawedde talked about discounts for people older than 50 and distributed a list of places who gives such discounts. She said most places will not give the discount unless asked.

Jarvis gave the devotions “What You Believe Makes a Difference.”

The next meeting will be July 23 at Columbus Airport Blackerby’s Hangar 5 restaurant.
