Virginia Krutz, 80, of Indianapolis, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2015, at her home.

Born Feb. 23, 1935, in Brownstown, she was the daughter of Hugh and Martha Lucas, both of whom preceded her in death. She was married to Samuel F. Krutz, who survives, for 59 years.

She worked for Northwest Radiologist as a radiology technologist for 35 years and was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. Virginia was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Other survivors include two sisters, Charlotte Sherrill of Medora, and Laberta (Milton) Otte of Seymour; three sons, Dr. Samuel D. (Melissa) Krutz of Fountain City, Steven Krutz of Monroe, Wisconsin, and Carl Krutz, Indianapolis; and a daughter, Carol (Loran Petro Jr.) Petro of Indianapolis; 10 grandchildren, Samuel R. Krutz, Amanda Krutz, Ashley Krutz, Adam Petro, Elizabeth (Ian) Driver, David (Alex) Krutz, Devon Krutz, Benjamin Petro, Erin Grube and Kelly Grube; and four great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Madilynn, Sammy and Uriah.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Joel William Lucas, Ernest Lucas, Hugh Lucas Jr. and Robert Lucas; and a sister, Betty McGlasson.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 6341 Mann Road, Indianapolis, with the Rev. John Dunaway officiating.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Home, 5463 Kentucky Ave., Indianapolis.

Burial will be at West Newton Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dr. Samuel Krutz, Samuel R. Krutz, Steven Krutz, Devon Krutz, David Krutz, Adam Petro and Benjamin Petro.
