Robert V. Rose, 66, of Seymour, passed away at 2:20 p.m. Sunday, June 7, 2015, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.

Born May 10, 1949, in Marion, Virginia, he was the son of William H. Rose Sr. and Elsie Virginia Hall Rose, both of whom preceded him in death.

Robert currently was employed as a security officer at Schneck Medical Center and was retired from Valeo in 2009. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his daughter, Veronica Waggoner of Columbus; his son, Shawn (Melissa) Rose of Columbus; a brother, William (Joyce) Rose Jr. of Columbus; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents; he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Rose; and sisters, Betty Ward, Mary Jones and Linda Kautzman.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home, 1029 Washington St., Columbus with the Rev. Brian Rose and Pastor Marvin Brown officiating.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday.

Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. Military rites will be presented by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.
