Cora Belle Burkhead Coker, 89, of Crothersville, passed away at 6:45 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2015, at Hampton Oakes of Scottsburg.

Born April 6, 1926, in Bardstown, Kentucky, she was the daughter of William Burkhead and Sally Hardin Burkhead, who are both deceased.

On May 30, 1969, she married Roy Leon Coker, who survives in Crothersville.

She was a member of Lighthouse Tabernacle where she served as a Sunday school teacher. Cora never met a stranger and loved being around people and spending time with her family. She was a very giving and helpful person. Recently she was honored at her church for being the oldest mother and was crowned the 2015 Queen of Hampton Oakes.

Other survivors include a daughter, Carol (Larry) Fletcher of Crothersville; two sons, Ed (Kathy Law) Solsberry of Deputy, and Gary (Dottie Murray) Solsberry of Crothersville; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Delores Solsberry of Scottsburg.

She was preceded in death by three sons, infant Harlan Eugene Nichols, Fred Solsberry and James Solsberry.

Pastor Jerry Miles will conduct the funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Adams Family Funeral Homes & Crematory in Crothersville, with burial to follow at Crothersville Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
