Thomas A. “Tom” Baldus, 67, of Seymour, formerly of Indianapolis, passed away Thursday, June 4, 2015, at Schneck Medical Center.

Born Oct. 8, 1947, in Beech Grove, he was the son of Joseph and Marie Koers Baldus, both of whom preceded him in death. On April 27, 1998, in Lawrence, he married Carol, and she survives.

After serving in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam, Tom went to college and earned his degree in nursing home administration. He then became the administrator of two nursing homes, one being in Greensburg, and the other in Monticello. After that, he went to work at East Gate Postal Service in Indianapolis, until his retirement. He loved gardening and enjoying time with his family.

Other survivors besides his wife include their children, Marc (Amie) Baldus, Carrie (Steve) Fuchs, Megan Baldus, and a stepson, Robert Sears; two grandchildren, Ty Stuehrenberg and Kamdin Tallent; two sisters, Marie (Louis) Coy, and Bernie Rollison; his mother-in-law, Mary Anna Kellams; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Baldus.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Voss Chapel with Father Dan Staublin officiating.

Visitation will be from noon until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home. A Rosary service will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Voss Chapel.

Burial will follow the service at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Four Corners.

Memorial checks may be written to American Heart Association.

Full military graveside rites will be conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled American Veterans and Korean and Vietnam Veterans Post, all of Seymour.
