Summer art camps taking registrations

Southern Indiana Center for the Arts has begun accepting applications for the annual summer art camps.

The camps for children in third through sixth grade will be from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 15 to 19 or June 22 to 26.

Spots in the camps will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. All students interested in art camp must fill out an application, and the camp fees must be submitted with the application to reserve a space.

Each day, campers will spend 3½ hours with four different teaching artists working on a variety of projects involving everything from painting to clay pottery.

Registration is $55 per student for center members and $90 for non-members.

You may register at the center at 2001 N. Ewing St. in Seymour from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays.

Memberships also may be purchased through the center office, and new members will receive the camp discounts.

One-year SICA memberships are $25 for individuals and $50 for a family. Membership includes discounts for future classes and events at the center. Grandparents who have a family membership may enroll their grandchildren at the members discount rate.
