Sorority conducts meeting, report on new-member orientation

Theta Omega chapter of Phi Beta Psi sorority conducted its April meeting at the American Legion Post 89 Annex in Seymour.

President Joan Trimpe was assisted by Paula McDaniel, Cori Vaughn, Michelle Lewis, April Darlage and Janet Cooper.

Committee chairwomen reported on the orientation of four prospective members.

Business discussed included the third annual Chicago bus trip to be Nov. 7; the Feb. 6 Cancer Dance to be conducted again at Pewter Hall with The Third Generation Band providing the music; the 107th national convention from July 19 to 22 at the Grand Hyatt in Tampa Bay, Florida (members voted on constitution changes); and the initiation May 6 at The Pines Fireside Room.

The sororities half of the 50/50 received at the basket bingo amounted to $610 and was designated to the Julie Ann Moore Gastro Intestinal Research Fund at Indianapolis.

For the May 18 business meeting, members should bring clothes for the clothing center or canned food for Provisions. There will be installation of officers also.

Election of officers for the new year was held. The new officers are Trimpe, president; Taryen Rockey, first vice president; Rachel Rust, second vice president; Cooper, treasurer; Vaughn, conductress; Kaylee Alberring, correspondence secretary; and Doris Baurle, reporter.

Vaughn won the April THETO.
