Blind quilter to speak at church

Elizabeth Burns of Salem plans to speak about how she overcame an accident in 1988 that left her blind and became a quilter at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 605 S. Walnut St., Seymour.

Her talk will be part of a joint meeting of the church’s adult senior ministry and the Visually Impaired Persons group.

During Burns’ program, entitled “Through Tragedy, Challenge, Perseverance and Triumph, a Quilter is Born,” she will display her quilts.
