Writers group meeting set at library

Jackson County Public Library Spilling Ink Writers’ Group will meet from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday in the meeting room at the Seymour library, 303 W. Second St.

Registration is not required for this free group, where young adult author Julia Karr plans to talk about her experiences as a writer.

Karr was born in Indiana and frequented the Seymour Library as a child. She moved to Chicago when she was 15. As a young mother, reading books to, and eventually with, her daughters, she fell head-over-heels for children’s literature and has written “XVI,” “Truth (XVI)” and “The Sign.” This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

The writers or would-be writers group meets on a mid-month Saturday each month.

Information: Becky Brewer or Kathi Linz, 812-523-4636.
