The National Association of Manufacturers recently awarded Indiana 9th District Congressman Todd Young, R-Bloomington, with its Manufacturing Legislative Excellence award.
The award was presented during an event conducted by NAM member Aisin Holdings of America Inc. in Seymour.
“Manufacturing plays a key role in Indiana’s economy,” said Scott Turpin, executive vice president of Aisin Holdings of America Inc. “The manufacturing sector employed over 520,000 Hoosiers in 2014 and remains a bedrock to our state’s success. Representative Young understands the important role that manufacturers play in Indiana and across the country and has shown his commitment through his votes in Congress.”
Young said he was honored to be given the award by the association.
“Indiana is one of the most manufacturing-intensive states in the country, and it is one of the most important sectors of our state’s economy,” he said. “Our office prides itself on looking out for the interests of Hoosiers who work at great places like Aisin, so it’s especially exciting to be given this award at the offices of one of our home-state manufacturers.”
