Lester L. Kuehn, 81, of Seymour, passed away Friday, April 3, 2015, in his home with his loving family by his side.

Born Aug. 19, 1933, at Honeytown, he was the son of Martin and Stella Redicker Kuehn, both of whom preceded him in death. On Dec. 12, 1998, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Brownstown, he married Ethel Lay Matlock Kuehn.

Lester was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Brownstown. He graduated from Cortland High School with the class of 1951. He then joined the U.S. Air Force, serving for four years. He then pursued a teaching degree in social studies and business at Ball State University.

Lester loved to travel with his wife and they especially loved spending some of the winter months in Florida. As a teacher, Lester lived in many different locations throughout the United States. Terry’s mother had three sets of twins and their story made front page news in Jackson County.

Besides his wife, survivors include two sons, David Russell (Megan) Kuehn and Eric Martin (Amy) Kuehn; two grandchildren, Nicholas and Matthew Kuehn; four stepchildren, Margaret Matlock, Roger (Luann) Matlock, Scott (Nancy) Matlock and Linda (Stephen) Goins; several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; and three sisters, Vivian (Ralph) Spurgeon, Lois Boswell and Larna (Wendell) Smith.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Harold and Lowell Kuehn, and sisters, Helen Schlehuser and Marion Eckleman.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Voss Chapel with the Rev. Scott Brown officiating.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 1 p.m. until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Reddington Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Reddington Christian Church and St. Peter’s Lutheran (church or school).
