Medora collects win

INDIANAPOLIS

Medora ended its 2014-15 campaign with a 68-42 victory at Baptist Academy on Friday.

In the first quarter, the Hornets opened with a 15-6 lead.

Up 31-26 at halftime, the Hornets outscored Baptist 19-10 in the third quarter.

The Hornets finished with a strong defensive effort, allowing just 6 Baptist points in the fourth quarter.

Kam Flynn led the Hornets with 16 points behind three 3-pointers while big-man Tristian Newcomb netted 14 and Jalen Beesley added 13.

Newcomb led the Hornets 43 total rebound with 8 boards while Kirk Stewart and Brandon Moore each nabbed seven.

With the victory, first-year Hornets coach Michael Leitzman hasĀ  matched the eight wins Medora had in 2013-14.

The HornetsĀ  will next play the winner of Orleans and Springs Valley in the semifinals of sectional Friday at Orleans.
