FREETOWN

Lloyd Greathouse, 90, of Freetown, passed away Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015.

Born Feb. 4, 1925, he was the son of Ira and Ada Carter Greathouse, both of whom preceded him in death. Lloyd married Ann Howell, who preceded him in death, and they had two sons.

Lloyd was a World War II veteran serving in the United States Navy. After leaving the service, he worked as a heavy equipment operator for International Union of Operating Engineers Local 181 in Louisville, Kentucky.

He will always be remembered for being so active throughout his life and for the vibrant stories he would share with his family and friends.

Survivors include his sons, Terry Greathouse and Gary (Donna) Greathouse; grandchildren, Michael (Amber) Greathouse, Matt Bruemmer and Dana Butler; and five great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Beulah Greathouse.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Voss Chapel in Seymour. Burial will follow at Freetown Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from noon until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
