Center offering group water color classes

Group watercolor classes are being planned for March 15 and April 12 at Southern Indiana Center for the Arts, 2001 N. Ewing St., Seymour.

The classes, taught by Kay Fox, will meet from 1 to 3:30 p.m. both days.

These classes are for those with knowledge of watercolor basics — beginning and intermediate levels.

Both projects will be on watercolor paper, 8-by-10 inches in size. All supplies are included in the class price of $35.

On March 8, students will be painting a little yellow warbler sitting in yellow-orange flowers using dry brush and wet-on-wet techniques.

On March 15, students will be painting a dragonfly among blades of grasses.

Class sizes are limited. Preregistration and prepayment are required the Thursday prior to the class date. To register, call the center at 812-522-2278 or email [email protected].

Photos of the paintings can be viewed at or on the center’s Facebook page, SICA. Art center members receive a 20 percent discount, and the cost of a one-year individual membership is $25.
