Cole C. “Catfish” Cummings, 38, of Medora died Friday, Feb. 20, 2015.

Born Aug. 27, 1976, in Lawrence County, he was the son of Randal Cummings and Elverna Johnson Cummings.

Cole was a 1994 graduate of Brownstown Central High School and also graduated in 2010 from Harrison College with a degree in accounting. He was a member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church, and he coached summer league baseball, all-star baseball and his son, Deven’s, basketball team. He loved spending time with all of his kids, and he will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his parents; stepmother, Alice Cummings; fiancée, Tausha Lequire; children, Deven and Lannah Cummings and Jacobi and Ashton Owens; sister, Amanda Linville; stepbrother, Brian Lehnert; stepsister, Brenda Wiedner; paternal grandmother, Margie Cummings; maternal grandmother, Georgia Johnson Hoaks; and several aunts, uncles and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Eugene Cummings and Warren Johnson, and a stepgrandfather, John Hoaks.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. today at Mount Zion United Methodist Church with Jack Suits officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon until time of service today at the church.
