Doyle Lee Edwards, 84, of Seymour, passed away Friday, Feb. 20, 2015, at Scott Memorial Hospital in Scottsburg.

He was an electrician and owner of Edwards Electric. He retired from Arvins and Cummins Engine Co. and was a member of First Apostolic Church, Austin. His hobbies included gardening, raising tall corn, hunting, and he loved being outdoors and helping others.

Born April 23, 1930, in Norman, he was the son of Elmer and Addie Grubb Edwards, both of whom preceded him in death. On Oct. 20, 1951, he married Betty L. Silence Edwards. She survives at Crothersville.

Other survivors include his son, Ray (Lynn) Edwards, Scipio; his daughter, Tracey (Jeff) Sharp, Freetown; grandchildren, Kristi (Kevin) Gabbard, Ashley Walker and Tyler Edwards; and two great-granddaughters, Macy and Jalyn Boyd.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Beatrice Bottorff; and six brothers, Howard, Lester Jr., Lesley “Jack,” Luther Dale “Babe,” Floyd Wayne (Ruth) and Dorsey Edwards.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Buchanan Funeral Home in Austin with the Rev. Damon Marlin and Brother J.B. Mills officiating.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Cana Cemetery in Uniontown.
