The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Jackson County conducted a team meeting Feb. 9 at MainSource Bank in Seymour.

Event leadership team leaders Jan Engel, Heather Quillen and Josh Quillen introduced American Cancer Society staffers Melissa Pressler and Eric Pittman and announced that 14 teams with 75 members already were registered and raising money toward a $62,000 goal. This year’s Relay For Life of Jackson County will be from 6 p.m. to midnight May 1 at Seymour High School.

Mission chairwoman Pam Bobb shared information on breast cancer, the second most deadly cancer.

The deadline to turn in sponsorship names and money to chairwoman Heather Quillen is March 15. Any business interested in sponsoring Relay For Life may contact Quillen by emailing [email protected].

The event leadership team will have a question-and-answer session for anyone interested in Relay For Life from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at MainSource Bank, 1104 E. Tipton St.
