Ruth Johnson Tatem, 89, of Seymour, and formerly of North Vernon, died at 11:35 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015, at Covered Bridge Health Campus in Seymour.

Survivors include her daughters, Wanda (E.C.) Eberts of Scipio, Betty (David) Forkert of Dade City, Florida, and Joyce Kinnear of Brandon, Florida; two stepdaughters; one brother, Thomas “Alfred” (Judy) Johnson of Lake City, Florida; eight grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Larry Luers; and son-in-law, Donald Kinnear.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First Christian Church in North Vernon with the Rev. Anthony Sweeney and the Rev. Kendall Wildey officiating. Burial will be at Finks Cemetery in Osgood.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon and from 10 a.m. until time of service Monday at the church.

An Eastern Star memorial service will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday by members of North Vernon Chapter 183, Order of the Eastern Star.
