J. Daniel Sharp, 85, of Taylorsville, passed away Monday, Feb. 9, 2015.

Dan served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. “Barber Dan” opened his shop, Sharp’s Trim and Groom, which he owned and operated for 57 years, in Taylorsville. He attended Life Apostolic Ministries in Westport and was a member of World of Pentecost in Columbus.

Born Dec. 19, 1929, in Vinemont, Alabama, he was the son of Frank V. and Mittie Lee Randall Sharp, both of whom preceded him in death. On Aug. 20, 1949, he married Freda M. Watson, who survives.

Besides his loving wife of 65 years, survivors include his children, J. Michael Sharp, Gerald K. (Penny) Sharp and Dana E. (Greg) Jones; grandchildren, Kristen L. (Justin) Lee, Gentry K. Sharp and Danielle Jones; and sisters, Mary Swan and Dorothy (Darrell) Oliver.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Self and brothers, Claud and George Sharp.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at World of Pentecost, 3939 Central Ave., Columbus.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to World of Pentecost, Imagine, 3939 Central Ave., Columbus, IN 47203.
