Five people, including a 16-year-old boy, were arrested Tuesday morning on various drug-related charges at a residence on the north side of Seymour.

Detective Brian Moore with the Seymour Police Department said the five arrests occurred after a SWAT team served a search warrant at the home at 623 Indianapolis Ave. During that search, police found methamphetamine with a street value of about $1,000, about $5,000 in cash and a .22-caliber handgun.

Those arrested included the homeowner, Harold S. Eisenmenger, 49, of Seymour, who faces charges of maintaining a common nuisance and possession of paraphernalia.

Moore said Eisenmenger apparently had been renting out rooms at the house.

One of the renters, Jerry Mobley, 28, of Seymour, was among those arrested. He faces three counts of dealing in methamphetamine, maintaining a common nuisance and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

Mobley’s girlfriend, Samantha Young, 22, of Bedford, was arrested and faces charges of dealing in methamphetamine and maintaining a common nuisance.

Police said Joel A. Shands, 31, of Seymour, was visiting the residence and faces charges of illegal possession of a hypodermic syringe and visiting a common nuisance.

All four individuals are being held without bond at the Jackson County Jail in Brownstown.

The juvenile was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center, and a judge will determine what will happen to him, Moore said.

The teen faces charges of selling methamphetamine, visiting a common nuisance and resisting arrest, Moore said.

Moore said undercover buys of methamphetamine had taken place at the home in the past, which prompted the request for the warrant.

He said the SWAT team was used to enter the residence because of safety concerns due to the criminal histories of some of those living there.

He said everyone complied with officers except for the juvenile, who tried to fight off the police.

During the search, Moore said officers found about half an ounce of methamphetamine.
