Saddle club discusses white elephant sale

Spurs and Wheels Saddle Club met in January at the home of Brad and Missy Wessel with a pitch-in soup and dessert supper.

Following the meal, president John Terrell conducted the business meeting. There were 26 members and two guests present.

A “thank you” note was read from Mary Ann Spray, with county office of child protective services, for the club’s support at Christmas. The club purchased clothes, toys and food for a couple of children in need and also donated mittens to the mitten tree at a local nursing home. The Brownstown Christmas Cheer committee also thanked the club for a donation to help with cheer baskets this year.

In other business, club members discussed having a white elephant sale during the March meeting and a decision to sale horse-related items during the 4-H tack auction and swap meet March 8. Proceeds will be used to help another family at Christmas.
