North Vernon

Officers were dispatched to a possibly impaired driver who had nearly struck two pedestrians in the Walmart parking lot; Officer Scotty Willis located the vehicle and made contact with the driver who checked OK. However, during the investigation police found the driver had provided Willis with a false name and birth date. Lisa L. Sweeny, 44, of North Vernon, was arrested for false identity statement, 11:18 p.m. Friday.

Officers investigated a property-damage wreck, Elm and Meloy streets, 9 p.m. Friday.

Property-damage wreck, 900 block of North State Street, 3:59 p.m. Friday.

Personal-injury accident reported, State Road 3 and Madison Avenue, 1:31 p.m. Friday. Police reported Anthony R. Tucker, 59, Butlerville, was eastbound exiting the Jay C Parking lot and ran a red light. He was struck by a northbound semi driven by Guillermo Delapaz, 35, Raleigh, North Carolina. A passenger in the Tucker vehicle, Catherine Hedger, 60, Hope, was airlifted to St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in Indianapolis. Tucker was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while never having a license.
