Wrestlers finish season in regional-opener
JEFFERSONVILLE
The Seymour wrestling team’s three athletes in regional competition were eliminated from the postseason tournament Saturday morning.
At 126, sophomore John Shuffit lost by decision, 7-5, to Floyd Central’s Chase Shalosky.
In the 132, Owls junior Garrett Johnson fell to New Albany’s Tristin Dowell in 1:28. Dowell went on to win the regional with a 15-10 decision against New Washington’s James Wise.
Owls Senior Tristian Sitterding lost by major decision in the 170-pounders, 14-0, to New Albany’s Idris Frederick. Frederick went on to take the regional with a 6-3 decision against Scottsburg’s Zack Adams.
