BROWNSTOWN

Mary Margaret Wheeler, 87, of Brownstown, passed away at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015, at Hoosier Christian Village in Brownstown.

Mary had been a housewife her entire life. She was a member of Brownstown Christian Church where she had been very active, and she was a member of Hoosier Christian Village Auxiliary.

Born Jan. 31, 1928, in Henry County, she was a daughter of William James Coon and Minnie Catherine Hatfield Coon. On July 31, 1944, she married Benjamin Morton Wheeler Jr. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include children, Benjamin William (Mary E.) Wheeler of Seymour, and Charles Edward (Laura) Wheeler of Brownstown; brothers, Bill (Maura) Coon of Richmond, and Clyde Coon of Economy; sisters, Bertha Coon of North Vernon, and Maxine (Carl) Hayes of Ohio; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, George Coon; a sister-in-law, Gail Coon; and a half brother, Rex Kilgore.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Winklepleck-Weesner Funeral Home in Brownstown with Gary Morning officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Acme.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service Saturday.
