James Lee Waltermire, 75, of North Vernon, died at 9:05 a.m. Monday, Feb. 2, 2015, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus.

Survivors include his wife, Katherine Waltermire of North Vernon; son, Ivan Poe (Cindy) Waltermire of Butlerville; two daughters, Loretta (Leon) Kreutzjans of North Vernon and Candy (Brian) Nunley of Union City, Ohio; stepchildren, Larry Wayne (Sue) Custer of Heyworth, Illinois, and Darla Kay Custer of DeBary, Florida; four brothers, William “Jack” (Tina) Waltermire and Lloyd (Carolyn) Waltermire, both of North Vernon, Albert (Minnie) Waltermire of Scipio and Leonard (Vinetta) Waltermire of Port St. Lucie, Florida; six sisters, Betty E. Wilder and Flora Jean Taylor, both of Scipio, Anna Marie Douglas of Elizabethtown, Juanita Sue Miller of Seymour, Carolyn Kay (Donnie) Allman of Dupont and Toni L. (Larry) Dursi of Weatherford, Texas; seven grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and nine stepgreat-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a stepson, Steven Douglas Custer.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon with the Rev. Connie Barr officiating. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour until the time of the service on Friday.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Hayden Historical Museum, Hayden United Methodist Church or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
