Seymour High School with help from the Jackson County Learning Center will conduct a Free Application for Federal Student Aid Night from 5 to 8 p.m. Feb. 3 at the center, 323 Dupont Drive, Seymour.
The event is open to any adult and high school students needing to complete the FAFSA for the 2015-16 academic year. Parents are encouraged to attend. Student aid experts will be available to provide information and answer questions.
The FAFSA is required to determine eligibility for most student aid programs, such as the Frank O’Bannon Grant, Federal Pell Grant, institutional awards and federal student and parent loans.
To complete the application, students will need their Social Security number; parents’ Social Security numbers (if they are a dependent student); Alien Registration Number (if they are not a U.S. citizen); most recent federal income tax returns, W-2s and other records of money earned, and their parents’ information (if they are a dependent student); bank statements and records of investments (if applicable); records of untaxed income (if applicable); a Federal Student Aid PIN to sign electronically (if you do not already have one, visit pin.ed.gov to obtain one); and their parents’/guardians’ PIN (if you are providing parent information on the FAFSA).
