Robert and Ileen Nehrt of Vallonia will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary Thursday.

Robert Nehrt and the former Virginia Ileen Schneider were married Jan. 1, 1955, at Trinity Lutheran Church at Vallonia.

The couple are the parents of Sharon (David) Florine of Arnold, Missouri, the Rev. Jeffery (Becky) Nehrt of Greenville, Illinois, Tony (Sue) Nehrt of Brownstown and Brenda (Michael) Dean of Senoia, Georgia. They also have nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The Nehrts are members of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Brownstown.

The family plans to celebrate the anniversary by gathering at the farm for a weekend of activities, sharing memories and attending church together.
