MEDORA

Elizabeth Ann Benge, 78, of Medora, passed away at 12:05 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, 2014, at Hoosier Christian Village in Brownstown. She had been ill for seven years.

Born Nov. 2, 1936, in Seymour, she was the daughter of Verlin and Georgia Mae Martin Plummer. She graduated from Medora High School in 1954 and was valedictorian of her class. In 1953, in Medora, she married Johnie G. Benge, who survives.

Mrs. Benge was a member of Grace Community Church in Brownstown, and she had worked as an accountant for the county office of the former Indiana Division of Family and Children when it was located in Brownstown. She was deeply loved by her family.

Survivors include her husband; children, Irvin Lee Benge of Crothersville, Margaret Ann Brassine of Medora and Natasha Jane Benge of Bedford; numerous grandchildren, great- and great-great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Carolyn Plummer.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Kathy Jane Benge in 1997; and a brother, Jerry Plummer.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Johnson Funeral Home with Richard Blocker officiating. Burial will follow at Vallonia Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday and one hour prior to the service Sunday at the funeral home.
