Lowell Morris Kiel, 79, of Seymour, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014, at Schneck Medical Center.

Born June 24, 1935, in Jonesville, he was the son of Walter and Alvina Voss Kiel.

On Dec. 27, 1958, in Seymour, he married Marita Terkhorn, who survives.

Lowell proudly served in the U.S. Army Air Corp. He retired as a process engineer from Holm Industries in Scottsburg. He enjoyed Cincinnati Reds baseball and woodworking. He was a Little League baseball coach for many years and served as senior president. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Marita; children, Todd (Janet) Kiel, Lisa (Bruce) Eppley and Kristi (Kevin) Pruitt; grandchildren, Jamie (Jami) Kiel, Justin Kiel, Laura Jo Kiel, Jordan Kiel, Leigh Kiel, Brett Eppley, Logan Eppley, Paige Eppley, Katie (Shane) Tormoehlen, Ashley Pruitt and Michael Pruitt; great-grandchildren, Charlee Grace Kiel and Bryce Tormoehlen; and brother, Kenneth (Carol) Kiel.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother and sister-in-law, Ron (Betty) Kiel.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Redeemer Lutheran Church with the Rev. Andrew Currao and the Rev. Joseph Barlau officiating. Burial will take place at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Jonesville, with full military graveside rites conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled Veterans 47, and Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour.

Visitation will from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Voss Chapel and from 9 a.m. until time of service at the church.
