BLOOMINGTON

The Medora girls basketball climbed back but ultimately fell to Bloomington Lighthouse 53-43 in a road game Thursday.

Lighthouse came out strong, amassing a 23-5 lead in the first quarter. However, the second quarter belonged to the Hornets, as they outscored Lighthouse 20-13.

In the second half the Hornets outscored Lighthouse 18-17, but it wasn’t enough to pull out the victory.

Hornets junior Carley McCammon posted 20 points (four 3-pointers) and five rebounds on the night.

The Hornets’ Avery Carney and Megan Weddell also led the team with 11 rebounds each.

Tonight, the Hornets (1-4) will host Cannelton in outer-conference play.
