SEYMOUR

Joshua Mark Engleking, age 50, a cherished soul hailing from Seymour, Indiana, was born on August 24, 1974. His journey was illuminated by his wonderful sense of humor, his playful spirit as a master prankster, and an unwavering loyalty to those he loved. Joshua lived life not by the constraints of others, but on his own terms, embracing each moment with a laid-back grace that endeared him to all who crossed his path.

A 1992 graduate of Seymour High School, he exuded a charismatic charm that was hard to resist. His love for music was as vibrant as his personality; he was an excellent guitarist and singer, weaving melodies that resonated deeply with many. Known as the “coolest of the cool,” Joshua reveled in attending concerts and had the unique privilege of playing in several local bands, sharing his passion and artistry with the community.

In his private life, Joshua found immense joy and pride in his children, Kingston Johnson and Harley Engleking, and step-daughter Kayla Philpot. He was also a devoted grandfather, adoring his grandchildren, Joseph Lykins and River Lykins. His spirit of camaraderie extended to his family, which included his father, Jerry Engleking and wife Susan; his mother, Rhonda Kay (Bedel) Engleking and her life partner, Vickie Smith; brothers Matt Engleking and his wife Anita, Nate Engleking and his wife Brandy; sister Melissa “Missy” Davis and her husband Charlie; and his beloved life partner of over 20 years, Kisha Philpot. Amongst his closest confidantes was his sissy and best friend, Karla Polley, along with her daughter Ashley Lynch.

Joshua departed from this world on October 5, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, music, and unfaltering devotion to family and friends. As we prepare to celebrate his life, we invite all who knew and loved him to join us on October 26, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Marion Community Center, located at 7485 W County Rd 850 S, Commiskey, Indiana.
