The Oct. 31 deadline to apply for an Indiana House Republican internship during the 2025 legislative session is fast approaching, according to area lawmakers.

State District 62 Rep. Dave Hall, R-Norman, said this full-time, spring semester internship is Monday through Friday at the Statehouse in Indianapolis during the legislative session, which will start in January and conclude in April. House interns earn $900 biweekly and can gain academic credit through their college or university.

“Interning at the Statehouse is not only educational, but it also helps students stand out in today’s competitive job market,” Hall said. “It’s a great way to explore career options and make lasting professional connections.”

State District 69 Rep. Jim Lucas, R-Seymour, said interested college sophomores, juniors, seniors, graduate students and recent graduates of all majors should visit indianahouserepublicans.com/internship to complete the application before Oct. 31.

“Having work experience on your resume can make a huge difference when applying for jobs,” Lucas said. “Interning at the Statehouse is a great way for students to learn, get paid and skill up for their future careers.”

State District 65 Rep. Chris May, R-Bedford, said House internships include free parking, career and professional development assistance, and enrollment access to an Indiana government class. Interns also are eligible to apply for a competitive $3,000 scholarship to use toward undergraduate and graduate expenses.

The program offers opportunities for students to work in various departments related to their studies, including legislative operations, policy and communications.

Applications are available online at indianahouserepublicans.com/internship and are due by Oct. 31.
