Trinity volleyball seniors recognized; Seymour soccer defeats Greenwood in Sports Roundup for Oct. 3rd

Trinity Lutheran

The Class 1A top-ranked Lady Cougars hosted Greensburg on Tuesday evening, defeating the Pirates in straight sets, 25-15, 25-15, and 25-17.

Trinity improved to 17-6 on the season, racking up 41 kills as a team, led by Carson Bowling’s 14 and Madison Keith’s 11. Addison Darlage led the team with 3 aces and assists with 33. Laura Roeder led in digs with 18 of them, followed by Maddie Adams who had 10.

Bowling, Keith, Roeder, Darlage, Ava Blomenberg, and manager Will Gausmann were all honored for senior night in the win.

The Cougars are back in action tonight on the road against Providence for a match at 7 p.m.

Trinity’s JV team also won their match, improving to 11-1 on the season.

The Lady Hornets traveled to Switzerland County for a match with the Pacers on Tuesday, dropping the volleyball match in four sets. Medora won the opening set 25-21, before dropping the next three sets; 25-23, 25-12, and 25-19.

The team hosts Dugger Union tomorrow for a match and will honor their senior Brelee Underwood for senior night. The match is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.

Crothersville

The Lady Tigers faced off with South Central on Tuesday night, losing to the opponent in five thrilling sets. South Central defated Crothersville, 15-25, 25-22, 16-25, 25-16, 17-15.

Zoey Prince led the team with 2 aces, while Brooklyn Bottorff had 10 kills for the Tigers. Kendra Kelshaw had 9, while Hayden Pilgrim had 8.

The Tigers host Columbus Christian for a match tonight at 6:30 p.m. Crothersville will have three matches next week against New Washington, Clarksville, and Lanesville to end their regular season.

The Owls traveled to Greenwood on Tuesday for a match with the Woodmen, defeating the opponent 4-2, behind two goals from Myles Chandler. Evan Unterseher also scored and so did Marckenson Paul.

Paul and Jake Loebker picked up assists, while Lance Hubbard recorded 2 saves in the back of the net for Seymour.

Seymour is back in action tonight on the road at Bedford North Lawrence for a match at 7 p.m.

Trinity Lutheran

The Cougars competed in the New Washington Invitational on Tuesday. Oliver Eggersman recorded the high finish of 3rd place in the boys’ race with a time of 18:33.44. Stephen Traeger finished in 22nd with a time of 22:36.77, while Sam Dyer ended in 28th with a 23:45.01.

Cheyenne Campbell recorded a 10th place finish to lead the Lady Cougars, clocking a 25:31.39. Teammate Elizabeth Downey ended the race in 15th with a time of 28:44.47.
