Michael William Zeigler, affectionately known as “Ziggy,” was born on July 9, 1951, in Franklin, Indiana. He passed away peacefully on September 20, 2024, at his residence in Seymour, Indiana, surrounded by his loving family.

A 1969 graduate of Franklin High School, Michael was a dedicated member of The Point Church for over 32 years, embodying the values of kindness and wisdom that he instilled in those around him. Known for his compassionate nature, Michael was universally loved by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was a hard worker and an excellent provider, known for his wise, slow-to-anger demeanor.

Outside of his family life, Michael enjoyed spending time on vacations with his loved ones, sharing in the joy of experiences together. He was an avid fan of IU Basketball and the Indianapolis Colts, as well as a devoted follower of NASCAR and Indy racing.

Michael’s family was his greatest joy. He is survived by his devoted wife of 32 years, Louise (Findley) Zeigler of Seymour, Indiana. His legacy continues through his children: Chaz Quillen and his fiance, Candace Henrikson of Seymour, Indiana; Ruby Quillen, aka Heath, of Seymour, Indiana; Michelle Bartlett and her husband, Jerry, of Flatrock, Indiana; and Brooke Dunagan and her husband, Shan, of Greenfield, Indiana. Michael was also a proud grandfather to fourteen grandchildren, whose lives he enriched with love and guidance.

He is survived by his brothers, Robert Zeigler and his wife, Libby, of Nashville, Indiana, and Dee Dee Baker and his wife, Daphne, of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, as well as his sister, Cyndi Trent of Peru, Indiana, and another sister, Sherri Dudley and her significant other, Benny, of Punta Gorda, Florida.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, William Zeigler and Nancy (Winter) Zeigler, and a sister, Kathy Gold.

Visitation for Michael William Zeigler will take place on October 2, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 7:00 PM. Both events will be held at the Christensen Family Funeral Home, located at 311 Holiday Square Road, Seymour, Indiana, 47274.

Michael’s warm spirit and loving nature have left an indelible mark on the hearts of his family and friends, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
