The Lady Owls hosted Bloomington South and Trinity Lutheran at Shadowood Golf Course on Tuesday evening.

Seymour came out on top with a team score of 190, four strokes ahead of the Panthers and their 194. Bloomington’s Melanie Southern earned medalist honors with a low round of 39.

Shana Spray led the way for the Owls with a round of 42. Emmy Followell had the next lowest score for the team with a 47, followed by Katie Cottrill’s 49. Emily Windley ended her round with a 52, while Caroline Dennis recorded a 59 in the winning effort.

Seymour Head Coach Jim Hoffman kept it simple afterwards on Tuesday.

“It was another win,” he said.

Trinity’s Jennifer Jones ended her round with a 66 on Tuesday. Cougars Head Coach Brooks Thoele spoke on her performance.

“Her ball striking has improved a lot this season and it is clearly showing,” Thoele said. “She is still working on the touch around the greens but again that has still continually improved throughout the season.”

The postseason is approaching fast as Seymour and Trinity compete at Bedford North Lawrence on Saturday for the opening round of the playoffs.

Coach Hoffman spoke on some keys for the team to be successful on Saturday.

“We have to focus on our game around the greens for the rest of the week to give us the best chance” Hoffman said.

The coach spoke on some things he wanted to improve before the postseason on Saturday.

“We have to cut some strokes to score better for Shana,” Hoffman said. “We still have some work to do, but we are consistent at 185-190. We are also sitting at 380-390 for our 18-hole averages.”

Thoele is happy with Jones improvement during this season.

“My goal for her this season was to always improve and she did just that,” Thoele said. “I’m hoping we can end the year with a personal best.”

Seymour, Trinity Lutheran, and Brownstown Central will all three compete at Otis Park Golf Course in Sectional 25 on Saturday, beginning at 8 a.m.

Jones will tee off at 8 a.m. in the first pairing with Mitchell’s Kylee Merry.
