EVANSVILLE AND FORMERLY OF MEDORA

Richard Kenneth Davis, son of the late Charles L. Davis and Helen L. (Hall) Davis passed away September 13, 2024, in Evansville, IN. Richard was born in 1941 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville, IN. He dedicated 20 years to his role at the L&N Railroad and co-owned Arrow Advertising. A lifelong member of the Evansville Masonic Temple since 1964, he was deeply involved in his community.

He is survived by his two daughters, Deanna “De” Brown (Tim), and Gina McCalister (Steve), four grandchildren, Chelsea Lear (Jarad), Allison Brown (Jonathan), Kristopher McCalister, and Jake McCalister (Kaylynn), and four great grandchildren, brother Charles Davis Sr, sister Mary Meyers, and several nephews and nieces and his toy poodle Baby. He was preceded in death by his brother Jack Davis, and second wife Jan (Hall) Davis in 2010.

Richard had a passion for transforming his backyard in Medora, IN and the 10 acres surrounding woods into a serene, park-like retreat. His love for birdwatching brought him immense joy, offering him peace and fulfillment in the simple pleasures of observing wildlife. He made several wonderful friends in Medora and with the members of his church.

Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Stan Thomas on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at the Medora Christian Church, 76 S. George St. Medora, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will take place at White River Valley Cemetery.
