The search for a missing 70-year-old in Grandview Lake is currently on hold as thunderstorms pass through the area, according to Indiana Conservation Officer Travis Stewart, public information officer on the scene.

The search, using boats and side-scan sonar, will resume when the weather passes until it gets dark, Stewart said.

At approximately 11:14 a.m. Wednesday, responders were notified the man was in the water floating in the lake with his feet on a jet ski when he went under and did not resurface.

The man was not wearing a life jacket at the time of the incident.

The identity of the man is being withheld pending family notification. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.

Conservation Officers are being assisted by the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department, Southwest Volunteer Fire Department, Harrison Township Volunteer Fire Department, Columbus Township Fire Department and Columbus Regional Heath
