Jackson County Visitor Center board welcomes new member

The passing of former Seymour High School principal Greg Prange on May 25 created an open spot on the Jackson County Visitor Center board.

On Wednesday, board members reminisced about Prange’s dedication to the board during their regularly scheduled meeting at the visitor center’s office.

Executive Director Arran Banks said Prange never missed a meeting until he fell ill.

The board then welcomed Tonya Pacey, owner of The Pacey Apothecary and Lola’s Modern Kitchen, to fill Prange’s place.

Due to the various types of business Pacey has been involved with, Banks said she ticked off all of the boxes for tourism activities the JCVC looks for in a board member.

Pacey was born and raised in Seymour. In 2008, her and her husband, Seth, lived on the road for about eight years. Some time after they had their daughter Lola, Pacey returned to Seymour to raise her and set up their business, The Pacey Apothecary, which opened back in 2022.

“Excited to see Seymour have a downtown again and be a part of it,” Pacey said.
