Crothersville Red, White & Blue Festival begins tomorrow

The 49th annual Crothersville Red, White & Blue Festival begins its four-day run at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Its kiddie bracelet night on the midway, which will be open through 9 p.m. and will again feature Bluegrass Rides.

Pre-sale bracelets are available for $15 at The Peoples Bank in Crothersville, which is open until 4:30 p.m. today and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. The bracelets are only good for Wednesday.

At 4:30 p.m. Thursday, the Little Miss and Mister Red White and Blue contest results will be announced followed by the festival’s official kick-off at 5 p.m. The 49th annual festival prince and princess will be crowned at 5:30 p.m.

Fisher’s of Men is scheduled to perform from 6 to 8 p.m. on the festival stage followed by Stephen Sullivan Arts from 8 to 9 p.m.

The festival will open at 5 p.m. and the schedule includes a magic show at that time followed by Brain Pink on stage from 6 to 8 p.m. Night Owl Country plans to perform from 8 to 10 p.m., when the festival closes.

On Saturday, registration for the 5K Run/Walk will be held at the high school flagpole starting at 7 a.m. The kids mini run is set to start at 7:45 a.m. followed by the 5-K Run/Walk at 8 a.m.

Registration for the baby contest will start at 9 a.m. at Tiger Hall with judging beginning at 10 a.m. when the festival officially opens. The results of the baby contest will be announced at 10:30 a.m.

Breakfast also will be available from 8 to 10 a.m. at Hamacher Hall.

Registration for the car show and parade will begin at 10 a.m. at the Bard Street Park.

The parade is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. and the car show winners will be announced at the stage at 3 p.m. Entertainment included One the House Band at 5 p.m.; Jackson Snelling of Austin from 6 to 8 p.m. and the Keith Swinney Band from 8 to 10 p.m. when the fireworks show will start. The festival closes at 11 p.m.
