Information Services Coordinator Kristi Gray gave a report about the “Adventure Begins at Your Library” summer learning program when the Jackson County Public Library board of trustees met May 20 at the Seymour Library, 303 W. Second St.

The program, which starts Tuesday and ends July 31, is online at myjclibrary.readsquared.com, on the ReadSquared app, in the Seymour, Crothersville and Medora libraries, and on the Discovery Bus. Registration started May 1.

Gray also reported the library received a $3,000 Indiana Arts Commission Creative Aging grant to hold weekly dance classes for adults age 60 and older that will start this summer and end in the fall. The grant will pay for the IAC-approved instructor and dance and ballet shoes for up to 20 people.

After Gray’s report, the board approved staff changes and changes to the circulation, information services and interlibrary loan lending policies. Trustees also approved spending $1,636 in Community Foundation of Jackson County endowment funds on Nintendo Switch and Mario Kart bundles with extra controllers for the Seymour Library Teen Scene, Crothersville and Medora.

The next board meeting is at 4:30 p.m. June 17 at the Seymour Library
