Softball

Trinity Lutheran

The Lady Cougars battled Rising Sun in their opening postseason game on Tuesday. Trinity would fall to the Shiners by the score of 11-0, ending their season with a 12-13 record.

Rising Sun kicked off the game scoring three in the first inning, adding one more in the third, before adding three in the fifth and two more in the sixth and seventh innings. The Cougars were limited to one hit, from Zoey Dulaney.

Grace Lance pitched for Trinity, going all seven innings, allowing 11 hits, seven earned runs, walking five, and striking out three batters. Rising Sun has been hard to defeat all season, now sitting at 23-1 on the year.

Crothersville

The Lady Tigers ended up with a bye in the softball sectional, facing Henryville in the sectional semifinal. Crothersville fell to the Hornets 15-0, not collecting a hit in their game. This was the first sectional game for Crothersville in softball in at-least half a decade.

Henryville seized the game early, going up 14-0 after three innings, ending it after the fourth frame. The Hornets will face Rising Sun in the sectional final tonight.

Boys Golf

Brownstown Central

The Braves faced off with Madison in their final regular season golf meet. The Cubs defeated Brownstown by 19 strokes, 303 to 322.

Micah Sheffer led the way for the Braves with a score of 76. Caiden Gwin carded an 80, Matthew Reedy and Collin Downing both recorded an 83. Smith Hackman and Drew Shelton finished with an 85, while Carter Covert carded a 91. Cole Brelage ended his round with a 93.

The team will now prepare for Sectionals at Cascades Golf Course in Bloomington on June 3rd at 8 a.m.

Seymour

The Owls faced off with Bedford and Providence on Tuesday, nearly winning the meet. Bedford won the meet, edging Seymour by two strokes for the win. The Stars scored a 175, while the Owls ended with a 177. Providence finished third with a score of 183.

Zarik Black led the team with a 42, while Luke Baker scored a 44, Noah Wineinger ended with a 45. Kirby Tormoehlen recorded a 46, and Jay Herbert scored a 57. Trenton Morris carded a 64 for the Owls.

The team now prepares for Sectionals at Cascades Golf Course in Bloomington on June 3rd at 8 a.m.
