Rail traffic resumed

Rail traffic, after a delay of approximately 12 hours due to a derailment Friday morning, was resumed on Penn Central lines through Seymour shortly after 7 p.m. Friday but its resumption was on a slower basis by Federal order.

The Force ushering in new theater

It’s no coincidence that Alliance Entertainment of New Albany plans to open its newest multi-screen theater in Seymour on the same day “Star Wars: The Phantom Menace” opens across the country.

“We fell a little behind on construction and so I told our general contractor he had to be finished by that date,” company President Anne Regains said of Wednesday’s opening of the George Lucas film.

The film will be the first movie to hit the screen at Alliances Great Escape 8 theater at Tanger Boulevard and U.S. 50.
