Cub Scouts fill food pantries and learn about leadership

Cub Scout Pack 529 learned the values of leadership and taking care of others by donating food to the empty food pantry box outside the Boys & Girls Club of Seymour.

The pack was split into two teams and each team had the opportunity to shop and fill the box with as much as they could with their $60 budget.

Some of these items included pastas, sauces, canned meals, juice, cereals, crackers and more.

Any extra items left over were taken to the Anchor House food pantry on South Vine Street.

“We do this because there are families out there that can’t afford food and by filling the box it helps them,” said six-year old Remy Vankampen.
