SEYMOUR, INDIANA
Kim Lee Charlton, 67, of Seymour, Indiana, passed away peacefully at her home on February 10, 2024, in Seymour. Born on June 13, 1956, in Seymour, Kim was a loving and caring individual who was immensely proud of her son and grandkids. She found joy in their accomplishments in the arts and various other endeavors and was quick to tell anyone she encountered about how proud she was of her family and their friends. Kim cherished her time with her husband, bonding over their numerous years together and their favorite shows on TV. She was a dedicated supporter of local bands and musicians and had a passion for dancing. She delighted in watching local performances featuring her husband, son, brother, daughter-in-law, and grandkids. Kim loved reminiscing and sharing stories about the people she held dear. Despite battling several health issues for many years, she always put others first. She was an animal lover and had a special place in her heart for horses. Kim was a devoted caregiver to her dogs and cared deeply for everyone around her. Kim cherished family celebrations and get-togethers; valuing every moment she was able to spend with her loved ones.
Kim will be deeply missed by her husband of 43 years, Greg (Scott) Charlton, her son Shawn (Kristina) Charlton, and her grandchildren Jackson and Lillyan. She is survived by her sisters Anita Nalley, Carla Suhar, Rhonda Combs, and Tammy (Terry) Goodpaster, her brother Randy (Sheila) Lequire, as well as several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews whom she enjoyed watching grow up. Kim also had close friends with whom she shared cherished memories. She was preceded in death by her mother, Elnora Lequire; father, Jack Lequire; and brother-in-law, Brad Combs.
In her educational journey, Kim attended Seymour High School. Kim was able to meet a lot of people and made multiple friends while working at various places in Seymour over the years. However, her primary focus was being a devoted mother and homemaker.
Cremation services for Kim have been entrusted to Burkholder Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes, 419 N. Chestnut Street, Seymour. A celebration of life will be planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Kim’s honor to the Jackson County Community Theatre in support of the Young Artists’ Theatre- an organization that continues to be a source of inspiration and comfort for her family.
