Sophia A. Stanfield, age 92, of Seymour, passed away Thursday evening, January 25, 2024, at Covered Bridge Health Campus.

Sophia was born on April 26, 1931, in Uniontown, IN to the late Haskell and Sylvia (Carpenter) Alexander. Sophia was a life-ling member of Central Christian Church in Seymour. She was a homemaker all her adult life who loved cooking for her family, sewing, and going on all the camping adventures she had with her husband, Marvin, who precedes her in death.

Survivors include her children, Steve (Mindy) Stanfield, Laura Vanwinkle and Brad (Kate) Standfield; grandchildren, Kyle (Amy) Stanfield, Kelly (Kevin) Webb, Greg VanWinkle, Andy (Audra) Stanfield and Lori (John) White; great-grandchildren, Izzy Stanfield, Callen Stanfield, Zac VanWinkle, Kenzi VanWinkle, Connor Stanfield, Brayden Stanfield and Alaina White.

Funeral services for Sophia will be held on Tuesday, January 30 at 12:00PM noon at Voss and Sons Funeral Service, 316 N. Chestnut St., Seymour, IN. The family will receive guests at the funeral home from 10AM until the time of service. Burial will immediately follow at Riverview Cemetery
