SEYMOUR

Thelma “Donna” Davisson, 84, of Seymour, passed away at 3:27 a.m. on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at The Lutheran Community Home in Seymour.

Born February 6, 1939, in North Vernon, she was the daughter of Samuel and Ella Mae (Day) Sampson. She married Lewis G. Davisson on June 25, 1956 at the Nazarene Church in North Vernon; he survives.

Donna was a homemaker and housewife. She attended Calvary Baptist Church in Seymour. Donna enjoyed corresponding with pen pals, reading, talking on the phone with friends, working latch hook and her dog Angel Lynn.

Surviving with her husband, Lewis; her son, Lewis Alan (Shirley) Davisson of North Vernon; daughter, Terry L. (Kevin) Schryer of Seymour; brother, David “Bud” (Kathy) Sampson of Seymour; grandchildren, Heather (Michael) Hicks of Birdseye, Timothy (Veronica) Schryer of La Porte, Alicia (Edward) Beeman of Dupont, Joshua (Haylee) Davisson and Brittany (Benjamin) Barlow all of North Vernon; and great-grandchildren, Lucas, Gracie, Johanna Schryer, all of La Porte, Presley R. Tiemier, Millie M. Beeman, Brayton Beeman and Myra Beeman, all of Dupont, Tatem Davisson and Blake Barlow, both of North Vernon.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ervin “Buddy” McNicholas, George and Samuel Sampson; and sisters, Louise “Sis” Johnson, and Luna Marilyn “Booney” Matthews.

A funeral service for Donna will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2024, at the Dove-Sharp &Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Rev. Dan DeFriece officiating. The visitation for family and friends will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday. The burial will follow in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.

Memorials may be made in honor of Donna through the funeral home to Calvary Baptist Church.
